Aunt Han And Her Decision
After you’ve defeated Dalang and the Horse Dancer, Aunt Han brings you back to Blissful Retreat, asking you to copy books as punishment for putting your life in danger. On the other hand, Yi Dao turns out to be an old friend of hers.
While you’re staying in your room for the punishment, Ruby arrives. You’ll have to talk to her and ask her to copy books for you in exchange for letting her meet the Killerblade, who is, quite frankly, your friend as well at this point.
Head over to find Beard Guang nearby. He’ll ask for a small favor in exchange for some information. He wants a jar of your special wine that you and Ruby have been aging in secret.
If you agree, he’ll tell you that he saw a woman with the same glowing powder on her shoes as Dalang, the horse. Beard Guang hints that you’ll immediately recognize this woman, and she’s likely the mastermind.

Now, you have to go to Aunt Han to tell her about this woman. But when you get there, you’ll find Aunt Han is busy talking with the Killerblade. Killerblade, Yi Dao, says that Chu asked him to head to Heaven’s Pier and bring back Jiang Wulang’s secret to Kaifeng, but he’s not aware what this secret is, and asks Aunt Han for help. Aunt Han is annoyed and also doesn’t know anything about Jiang’s secret.
Yi Dao informs Aunt Han that Chu is dead, and it was his parting wish. After the conversation, Aunt Han declares that after the Aureates have found this location, they can’t stay in Heaven’s Pier anymore. You’ll have to talk to Yi Dao and tell him about Jiang’s shack so he can look for his secret himself.

Preparations
After Yi Dao leaves for Jiang’s shack, you’ll have to go and find Aunt Han. She’ll be at the shore pouring out wine as she prepares to leave.
Uncle Zhou tries to convince her not to leave, but she’s determined, calling it dangerous. In the end, Aunt Han agrees to stay one more night and plans to depart from Heaven’s Pier tomorrow.
If you talk to Aunt Han, she’ll ask you to prepare yourself to leave Heaven’s Pier. However, your main character has other plans and wants to leave with Yi Dao to explore the Jianghu. They’re conflicted and want to escape behind Aunt Han’s back.

After you’re done talking with Aunt Han, Ruby will arrive after finishing the books. You’ll have to talk to her and take her to meet the Killerblade at the Bamboo Groove. Your main character will talk to Yi Dao about their plans to leave Heaven’s Pier with him. Yi Dao eventually agrees and asks you to come to the old temple where you fought Dalang at night.
Yi Dao, Ruby, and your main character will have a light-hearted conversation, with Yi Dao gifting Ruby a horse. She’ll name it Clip Clop.

The Sweetwine Tower
After the conversation, you’ll have to take Ruby on her horse while telling her about your plans to leave Heaven’s Pier tonight. She’s upset, but the girl tries to be strong. You will then have to go to the Sweetwine Tower to get your belongings.
Go into the tower and enter the cellar. There’s a huge underground structure built below the Sweetwine tower, and you’ll have to navigate from here. Your first task would be to retrieve the Secret Haven’s Key. This area has plenty of chests. You’ll see three floating red flies in the first area. Interact with all three of them to unlock the chest. You have to be careful, as you won’t be able to use your movement skills freely here.

Furthermore, the water here also has some chests underneath it, but you have to be wary of the crocodiles. The secret haven key is on a lower floor, just after you get out of the water. You can also follow quest markers to it, but you’ll find it near the waterfall area and a chest. The key will be stuck between the rocks. After getting the key, there’s a place nearby where you can squeeze through.
Progress ahead and use the elevator to go deeper in the tower. You’ll find a ton of chests in this area. Take all the chests and your two prized items. One of them would be Aged Parting Tears wine, and the other would be Uncle Jiang’s bracers.

After picking up the items, you can either teleport back to the surface or explore further. We recommend that you explore a little further, as this area has more chests and secrets to uncover, including a boundary stone.
As you return to the surface, you’ll have to go back to your room near the Blissful Retreat to write your letter before departing. You spot a shadowing female figure outside of your shack, but can’t spot who it is.

Night Of Tragedy
Now that you’re fully prepared, it’s time to go and meet Yi Dao at the ruined temple. As you get there, you’ll have a chance to talk to Yi Dao about himself and his friend. After the conversation, Yi Dao and your main character will be looking at all of Heaven’s Pier from the ruined temple, but they’ll notice something strange.
A huge group of the Aureates is arriving by sea in secret during the night, and they start to massacre everyone in sight. You’ll try to go and help, but Yi Dao will stop you, telling you that you’re not strong enough to do anything about it.
After fighting against him a little more during the cutscene, Yi Dao will eventually give in to your guts and will be willing to help you.

Make your way to Blissful Retreat with Yi Dao as the whole area goes up in flames. As you’re going through a wooden bridge on Yi Dao’s horse, a blast will cause both of you to split up. The fire makes it difficult for you to go anywhere. However, some of the residents of Heaven’s Pier are resisting. You’ll have to join up with Du Qiaoxian and Yuan Jin’gang for your survival.
The duo will tell you that a spell has caused the entire Heaven’s Pier to become a maze, and no matter which way you try to escape, you’ll end up inside of it again.
Battle against the incoming hordes of enemies and then move to a high area with Yuan Jin’gang to see your options out of this situation.

You’ll find that the Sweetwine Tower can withstand fire, as well as many important people have been held hostage. You’ll have to free these people, including Song Jiu, Beard Guang, and Ding Si. Du Qiaoxian will be fighting alongside you, while Yuan Jin’gang will be providing support with this bow.

Rescuing The Hostages
There are plenty of enemies here, and you’d have limited resources. But don’t worry, because even if you die, you won’t have to do the whole thing again. Keep going and rescue each hostage one by one. After saving the three, you’ll have to rescue Ruby.
Fight against all the enemies in the area, and Ruby will show up. You’ll have to take her to the Sweetwine Tower. Here, you’ll be reunited with Yi Dao, who’d be helping you defend the Sweetwine Tower.
Battle against the siege, and after you’re done, Yi Dao will ask if you saw anything that might be the array’s focal point, the source of the maze spell.

Yi Dao speaks of a woman, saying that she appeared out of thin smoke like a witch. He says that they’ll have to kill this woman if they want to leave this area alive.
Killerblade tells you one way of getting out of this mess is to have someone outside of Heaven’s Pier guiding them. Ruby is listening, but you ask the group to go back inside the Sweetwine Tower.
You’ll tell the survivors that they should hide in the cellar inside the Sweetwine Tower. However, if you go inside, you’ll see that the entrance to the cellar has been sealed.
Your main character will ask the survivors to barricade the tower for now, as you’ll go and get rid of the focal point first. However, Ruby has other plans.

Bravy Ruby
Ruby will come and tell you that there’s a crack in the tunnel that she can get through to get to a nearby mountain, and then, she’ll be able to guide the survivors out of Heaven’s Pier. The main character will refuse, strictly forbidding it because it’s too dangerous.

You’ll tie Ruby up and ask the survivors to keep her in check and make sure she doesn’t go anywhere. You will then have to fight against the incoming enemies. After fighting against the enemy, one of the survivors will notice a banner on the nearby mountain.
The main character will immediately ask for Ruby and open the Tower’s doors, only to find that Ruby has escaped.

We then see the witch, Qianye, looking at the banner, which is just Ruby’s cloak. Qianye orders it to be shot down by archers, and we see the arrows attacking the cliff where Ruby is.
Qianye then shoots an arrow by herself, but Ruby’s horse, Clip Clop, comes in to save her and takes the arrow. However, Qianye then shoots another arrow, piercing the cloak and likely hitting its mark.

You will then have to make a last stand with Yi Dao as you fight for your survival. After you’ve defeated all the enemies, Qianye will reveal herself as the mastermind of this tragedy, claiming to be the focal point of the array.
As the cutscene goes on, the ground crumbles during your battle against Qianye, causing you to fall into the depths below the Sweetwine Tower. Yi Dao also jumps down, but here, you’ll have to fight against Qianye.

Qianye The Witch, And Yi Dao’s Decision
Qianye is easily the most challenging boss that you’d have to fight yet. Her first phase is somewhat easy to deal with because of Yi Dao helping you out, but the second phase is where it really tests your skill.
If you feel like you aren’t ready to take her on right now, you can exit the boss arena and return to it later. Unlock the cursor and select the exit quest area button at the top of the screen to leave.

You can return here anytime, but it’s recommended that you’re at least above level 35, so you should go and explore and find those Medicinal Tales to unlock an extra charge of your medicine to survive. You can also check out our complete Qianye Boss Battle Guide here.
However, if you do manage to defeat the boss, your main character will wake up, as if the entire fight was just a dream. Yi Dao is fighting to protect you.

In the cutscene, Yi Dao and your main character will drink the aged Parting Tears together as they fight against the hordes of enemies, with Yi Dao finally kicking you out of the arena as he’s attacked by Qianye and receives a fatal wound.
Yi Dao manages to set fire to the aged wine inside the tower as a final goodbye to save you from Qianye.

However, your main character will try to jump back into the fire to get to Yi Dao. Aunt Han shows up and grabs you by your collar to stop you from dying in the fire. This will end the current scene, as several days pass and the survivors start to rebuild Heaven’s Pier after the massacre.
Clip Clop’s Will And The Future
The scene shifts back to Ruby’s horse, who is still alive and survived the arrow. Now, you’ll have to make your way to the main character as the horse.
You’ll find your character setting up graves. Your character will reunite with Clip Clop and ride it. You’ll also receive an email showing a deal between Wuque and Aunt Han.

The email talks about how Aunt Han made a deal with Wuque, but now you’ll have to go to Kaifeng and meet this person at the Wheatwind Bazaar. However, you need to acquire all the wandering skills in Qinghe before heading to Kaifeng.
This will mark the completion of Chapter One: Heaven Has No Pier, and kick off Chapter Two: Universal Furnace.
