Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Whisper of the House.

In this section of the walkthrough, we cover Jane’s punk rock instrument store, then help decorate a model showroom for a streamer, and then visit a seaside cabin with a mysterious, underwater secret.


On the Way to Jane’s Store

Now we’re going to go set up Jane’s punk rock instrument store. The store is to the far west of town, near the second home you were gifted by Melody.

Along the way, we pass by the cinema and un-curse the whack-a-mole machine right outside it. We’ll also un-curse the fire hydrant to the southwest of the cinema.

There’s also a construction site with a cursed crane. To get to it, we go through the alley that we un-cursed in the previous part, and then enter the site through the gap near the yellow fence.

To the southwest of the construction site is a basketball court with a seemingly haunted basketball. Un-curse it to get rid of it.

Finally, moving west, we reach Jane’s instrument shop.

Jane’s Punk Rock Instrument Store

This time, you have to place items in the designated spots, so it’s not up to your preference. Keep an eye on the progress bar in the top-right to make sure you get each item placement right.

One of the blue bass guitars is cursed, so un-curse it while you’re at it.

Once you’re done, settle the task.

Get back out to town to find that you have a letter from “Company”, which has assigned you to provide model room arrangement services.

Model Showroom

Let’s make our way to the showroom now, which is to the eastern side of town.

This time, it’s up to you to arrange the showroom, so go nuts. We’ll be using the Storage button this time to pull out items from the company’s storage.

You can also change colors of the storage items by clicking on the Renovation button (next to the Storage button), and right-clicking on the item you want to change the color for.

Keep adding items to the showroom and arranging them to your preference until the progress bar in the top-right is filled up.

Once the progress bar is at 100%, settle the task.

Fishie’s Cabin

After this, we get a mysterious letter from ‘Fishie’, who would like you to check in on a cabin by the sea.

The cabin is right opposite the bakery, so head there now.

If you pass through the local Chinatown, be sure to un-curse one of the lion statues by the entrance.

Finally, approach the cabin and enter. Here, our goal is to clean up the place and repair the shelf.

Pick up all the trash and put it in the bin right by the entrance.

Break down the creaky chairs into wood and clean it up. 

Be sure to un-curse the old planks that are blocking the way to the basement, or to the “secret base”.

Don’t forget to clean the green stains from the carpet, walls, and shelves.

As you clean the upper area of the cabin, you’ll find a cursed crayon doodle. Right-click on it repeatedly to un-curse it.

While you can fix the windows, you can’t remove the doodles on them, so leave them be.

When you’re done, you can settle the task, but first, let’s go down to the ‘Secret Base’.

The Secret Base

Interact with the blue jellyfish to turn on some lights. There’s another jellyfish to the lower-right of the octopus with surveillance screens – use your mouse pointer to locate it.

There’s another jellyfish to the south of the octopus – turn it on as well. Look to its right for a fourth jellyfish.

A fifth jellyfish can be found to the left of the octopus. Once this one is done, interact with the fish-person in the submersible.

This takes you to an empty room with a bathtub. Interact with the bathtub to return to the cabin.

Now we’re ready to settle the task, so do that.

We Have Mail

We have a lot of mail after this:

  1. First is a letter from Marwin, who wants help with Convenience Store No. 8.
  2. The second letter comes from Jane, who wants you to help her sister with her underground cocktail bar.
  3. A third letter comes from Miki’s Friend, who wants you to catch cats in the supermarket.
  4. Finally, a newspaper page tells us about progress in deciphering the numbers on the museum.
