Welcome to the first part of our walkthrough for Will: Follow the Light.
The game starts with you caught in a thunderstorm out at sea. Afterwards, you’ll find yourself at the lighthouse, preparing for a big storm that’s about to hit soon.

Weather The Storm

When you select a New Game, you’ll find yourself at sea on a speedboat. The sky is black with clouds, and the sea is restless. For now, all you have to do is steer the boat and keep heading straight ahead.
After a while, Will speaks up, saying you have to drop the sail because of the wind. Head to the starboard side of the boat and interact with the sail. Interact with the three hotspots and hold the prompt button to set back the sail.

In a few moments, the boom will come loose, and you have to secure it. Turn around and interact with the boom. Complete the mini-game to fix the boom.
You’re done with prepping the ship for now. Continue sailing through the storm.

Eventually, Will calls out a big wave coming from the port side. Sail toward the wave to get past it. There will be another wave coming from the starboard side. Like before, sail toward it.

Continue sailing forward, and eventually, you’ll encounter a big wave, and the screen goes black, marking the end of the prologue.
Collecting the Weather Data

Will wakes up at the radio station shed on the island after the prologue. Interact with the radio on the table to speak with Cassandra. Because of the poor network, Cassandra asks you to switch to the backup frequency: 150.4.
Interact with the Radio and dial in the correct frequency to continue the conversation. She’ll tell you of a major storm heading for the coast and that you’ll have to prep the lighthouse and grounds.

After the conversation, get up from the table and look at the weather board behind you. Interact with it. Pick up the To-do List and the Assignment Chart from the board.

Then turn toward the table with the Computer and the Radio. Pick up the Instruction page beside the Computer. With that done, step outside through the door.

Inspect the note from Greg on the bench on the porch.

Then head toward the weather instruments near the lamp post up ahead.

Interact with all three instruments. The Anemometer (Wind Device) isn’t working, but you can Collect Precipitation and check the Humidity Device.

Note that the indicator points to 65 in the Humidity Device.

Walk around to the back of the shed to find the Homemade Anemometer that Greg mentioned in the note. Interact with it and note down the data: 16.52.

Return to the shed, interact with the Measuring Flask on the desk under the weather board. Interact with it once it’s filled to check the water level: 75.

Interact with the Computer and input the correct data:
- Precipitation: 70 mm
- Wind Speed: 16.52 m/s
- Humidity: 65%
Choose Apply to upload the data and then interact with the Radio to talk to Cassandra again.
Tuning the Radio Tower

After the conversation, step outside. You can see the Radio Tower in the distance through the fog if you turn left. Head toward it.

Climb up the ladder to the top when you reach the tower. You can see the Lighthouse and the Keeper’s House down the hill up ahead.

Interact with the panel at the top. You now have to solve a puzzle to tune the receiver.

Your goal is to align the two waves that you see on the screen. You can adjust the two large dials using the Left Stick and choose between the two waves using the RB/LB buttons.

After tuning the receiver, go back down the ladder. Follow the path past the Radio Tower to reach the Keeper’s House. Head through the door.

There are several objects that you can interact with in the living room. Interact with the boiler to turn on the heat. When you’re ready, head in through the left door to Will’s Bedroom.

Sit at the table and interact with the Radio.

Set the frequency to anywhere between 148.5 and 151.5 and talk with Cassandra.
Fixing the Backup Generator

After speaking with Cass, head out of the house and walk up to the Lighthouse. Enter through the main door.

Don’t go up the stairs. Instead, head through the second door on the right to reach the backup generator room.

Interact with the generator to open a puzzle screen. You need to move the lever through all the green nodes to solve it. However, the red light under the fuel sign isn’t lit up. As you guide the lever toward it, Will says that you’re out of fuel.

Back away from the generator and go through the second door in the generator room to go back outside.

Walk around the building to spot the fuel tank. Interact with the valve beside it to refill the fuel tank.

Go back to the generator and guide the lever through all three green lights and the exit point. Check the image above for the correct pathing.

Turn right and interact with the electrical panel beside the door. Will notices an issue with the voltage and must check the fuse box upstairs.

Turn right, head through the door, and start going up the stairs.

You’ll find the Fuse Box after climbing up a ladder at the top of the staircase. Interact with it.

This brings you to another puzzle where you have to press the switches in the correct order. The correct switch order is given in the image above.

Once that’s done, head back down the ladder, exit the Lighthouse, and return to the Keeper’s House. Interact with the Radio to talk to Cassandra again.

After that, interact with the Logbook in Will’s Bedroom. Guide the pencil to the points marked on the map and select the Notes you want to add. Here are the ones that we went with:
| Actions | Notes |
|---|---|
| Collecting Weather Data | The storm’s coming closer. It’s cool to know I’m pitching in for Science. |
| Setting up the Signal on the Radio Tower | Shouldn’t have gone out there in the wind. The signal’s been bad recently, but kept putting it off. |
| Checking the Radio Connection | Comms are up but still glitchy. Doesn’t bode well. |
| Maintenance of the Generator | Topped up the fuel – shouldn’t be any issues tonight. |
| Repair of the Lighthouse | The Fuse blew – could’ve been a fire tonight. |

Back away from the table and go to sleep by interacting with the bed.
The Dream Sequence

After going to bed, you’ll enter a dream sequence. You’ll be in a place filled with water. There’s a child up ahead.
Walk toward him, and he’ll disappear.

Continue following the light. You’ll see the child appear a couple more times along the way.
Keep running, and eventually, the dream will end.
The Emergency

Will wakes up in the middle of the night in complete darkness to the sound of Morse code coming from the radio. The storm has finally hit the island, which has caused the power to go out.
Interact with the radio on the table to respond to the signal. Then pick up the lantern beside the radio.

Light the lantern and make your way outside, toward the lighthouse through the storm.

Head up to the floor with the fuse box. Will notices that the lightning has melted the fuse box.

Take the ladder on the right to reach the top of the Lighthouse. Interact with the Lamp to replace it with the Lantern.

This triggers a cutscene as you see a boat send up a flare from the sea. You’ll also see a car below and Greg standing in front of it.

Run down the stairs and exit the Lighthouse. Walk up to Greg and talk to him. He’s here to replace you, saying that you need to get back to the city and find Cass. He hands you the car keys.
Interact with the car to trigger a cutscene and complete the chapter.
