Witchspire is an open-world witch fantasy game, where you can build, cook, and craft. Not only that, but you can also roam around the world on your broom, solo or with your friends. You’ll also encounter many creatures on your journey, and you can befriend them as well. These creatures, once befriended, will help you out against other enemies as you progress through the story.

Tutorial
As the game begins, you’ll find yourself low on health. Use the healing potion in your inventory to heal yourself. Walk out of the area after that.
You’ll then reach another building, but the path here is blocked by vines. Use your blade on the vines to burn them away.

You’ll find some enemies ahead that you’ll have to defeat. From here onwards, you’ll just have to dash and jump across multiple platforms.
While doing so, you’ll encounter eye-shaped orbs that shoot projectiles at you, and you’ll have to use the dodge button to avoid them.

In the next area, jump on the floating jellyfish to get to the next platform. Here, you’ll find a gate with a pressure plate in front of it. Open the gate and dash in.
After that, you’ll find some familiars on pedestals here. You can only pick one of them. Make your choice and head to the gate in the front.

You’ll have to command your familiar to stand on the pressure plate while you step on the other one. This will open the gate, and you can dash ahead to get to the other side.
Next, you’ll encounter some more enemies. Here, you’ll have to command your familiar to attack the enemies while fighting them by yourself.

Once that’s done, you’ll finally be able to end the tutorial and arrive in the world of Witchspire.

Workbench
As you arrive here, you’ll find a diary shortly ahead. These are notes left behind by Eliria to guide you. There’s also a satchel nearby with some items.
Now, you have to find some wooden branches, as you can’t cut trees yet. Gather at least five of them and build a workbench using the build menu.

Use the workbench to craft Verdantbloom Petal, which can be crafted from Verdantbloom. These are the green glowing flowers you find all over the place.
Verdantbloom Petals are your basic form of healing in the early game. You should always keep some on you, and you’ll need them more once you start fighting against tougher enemies.

Building Your Base
You’ll find some lower-level enemies nearby. Defeat them to level up. Once you’re done, you should unlock the hearth in the Luminary tree.
You’ll then see a quest marker nearby. Follow it. There will be a page of Eliria’s Diary here, as well as an extinguished Hearth. The diary talks about the Chirili Crater nearby.

Interacting with the extinguished hearth will give you a point that can be used to build your own hearth.
For the next task, you’ll have to level up your familiar. Familiars usually level up alongside you in combat. You’ll also have to unlock a Familiar Ability. Open the inventory menu and select the familiar that you want to upgrade the skills of.

Next, you’ll have to select the skills from the tree that you want to upgrade. After that, you’ll have to upgrade your Hearth.
Upgrading The Hearth And The Chirili Crater
To upgrade the Hearth, you’ll need 10 Simple Planks and 10 Spirit Dust. You can get Spirit Dust from defeated enemies, while the Simple Planks can be crafted at a workbench with wood.
After that, you have to head to the nearby Chirili Crater. The enemies here are tough, so you’ll have to level up.

Follow the quest marker to reach the Crater. Once you’re there, you’ll have to look for the Diary page. The diary talks about the Froblin Cave. However, you’ll need to craft a weapon first.
Open the Luminary tree and unlock a weapon. It can be a wand or a spellblade, but the wand is better for the coming battles. You’ll need a hilt first. Craft the hilt and then the blade at the workbench.

Froblin Cave
Follow the quest marker to reach the cave. The enemies here are stronger, and you’ll need to be at least level 5 to stand a chance here.
After that, approach the glowing orb-like thing in the cave. There’s a diary page here that talks about a nearby shop.

You’ll have to head to the shop to check it out. You likely won’t have any gold to buy anything yet, but this shop becomes useful later on when you have built farm plots.
Next, the game points you towards the West Ruins. The location is far away, and you’ll have to level up to get there.

Getting New Familiars
It’s best to wait till you’ve at least level 8 before heading for the West Ruins. During this time, you can defeat the creatures in the open world. Sometimes, when a creature is defeated, their souls are left behind.
Interact with the souls to bond with the creatures. You can then head to your Hearth to equip them as familiars. Using incense drastically increases the chances of souls being left behind.

West Ruins
Follow the quest marker to reach the West Ruins. You’ll find some ancient machines here, and they’re quite strong.
Interact with the portal in the ruins, and you’ll be teleported to the boss arena. Here, you’ll have to fight against a level 10 Al’uunian Golem.

To fight against the golem, you’ll need to bring a Stellar Burst wand and some Vanderbloom Petals for healing. The Stellar Burst wand allows you to spam attacks from a distance, without worrying about getting close to the boss.
Use the healing item once your HP goes low, and you’ll be able to defeat it comfortably from a distance with the help of the wand.

Once you’ve defeated the boss, you’ll get a Witchspire key. You’ll need to find five more keys. There are some chests near the portal. Open them up and exit the dungeon via the portal.

Crafting A Broom
To craft your first broom, you’ll first need to level up your Hearth. To reach Level 3, you’ll need Cinderbloom and Chirili Tuft, both of which can be found in the Chirili Crater. The Copper Ingot should be there due to the satchels, while the Spirit Dust can be obtained by defeating enemies.

Unlock the Witchcraft Circle from the Luminary tree. Build it, and you’ll need to craft the Simple Ritual Candle with the Witchcraft Circle.
Furthermore, to upgrade your Hearth to Level 4, you’ll need 3 Tear of Al’uun, which is something you’d already have after defeating the guardian. Simple Planks can be made from wood at the workbench.

After that, you can unlock the Spinner and the Basic Broom from the Luminary tree. After that, you’ll be able to craft a broom at the Witchcraft Circle, but it needs 5 Spirit Dust and 3 Fine Wood.

Fine Wood can only be obtained from large and old Oak Trees. There’s one tree a little to the east of the centre of the map.

However, you’ll also need a logging sickle to cut down trees. This tool can be crafted at a workbench.

Use the Logging Sickle on the tree. This tree is much larger than regular trees, and you’ll be able to get Fine Wood from it.

After that, head to the Witchcraft Circle and craft a broom. You’ll have to equip the broom first. On a keyboard, there wasn’t any key showing up for it at the time of writing, but with a controller, you can press the left joystick button to equip the broomstick. Once equipped, the broom will disappear from the inventory, and you’ll be able to use the button to fly with it.

Flight To Witchspire
Now, there’s a pillar in the area that you’ll have to approach. There’s a nearby orb attached to it. Interact with the orb, and the pillar will light up, giving you the energy to fly.

Take flight from the bridge after your broom and the pillar are ready. You’ll then have to keep going up until you reach the Witchspire.

When you get there, interact with the altar to insert the first key that you’ve already acquired. Cirrus’s voice will then tell you to head to the nearby place called Timberline Basin, where you’ll find the next key.
