Yakuza Kiwami 3 was recently released, and this remake has introduced a significant amount of new content, especially the DLC, Dark Ties. Now that you have completed the second chapter, the next one will be a little different as it won’t feature the new gang you just joined. You are now going to face the Tamashiro family head-on, and that can be a little challenging. In this guide, I will provide a complete walkthrough of Chapter 3, Power Struggle, in Yakuza Kiwami 3.

Yakuza games consist of many lengthy cutscenes, and you may feel that they are longer than the actual gameplay. However, the cutscenes are extremely engaging and are essential to the story. Yakuza games are not just about the gameplay. The plot is on another level, and to truly experience it, you should not skip any of the cutscenes.

Power Struggle Walkthrough
As you begin Power Struggle, a cutscene will play. After that, you will have a conversation with several characters, and then you will need to help Ayako with her homework.
The answers can be different for everyone, but they aren’t that difficult. You only need to get six of them right, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Even if you fail the test if won’t have a negative effect.
Once that is done, you will need to make Taichi’s dustrag. Sew the dustrag according to the instructions. When the stitching is straight, you can sew faster. When the game indicates that a turn is coming up, slow down to maintain accuracy. After finishing the dust rag, you will need to gather some crops.
Harvest The Crops From The Plots
Head to the backyard, where you will find the garden that Haruka recently started. Collect the vegetables, plant new seeds, and then return to Haruka. After that, you will need to prepare dinner for the children, which will lead to bonding moments with them. Soon, you will be introduced to the features that allow you to strengthen your bond with the family.
After a while, the Minister of Land, Suzuki, will arrive and threaten Kiryu, demanding that he vacate the area. Following a series of events, Rikiya will rush in to inform you that Saki has disappeared. Ride with him to head downtown.
Head To The Ryudo Family Office
Follow the quest marker to reach the head office. Along the way, you may encounter random enemies or members of the Tokyo Night Terrors. You can choose to ignore them or complete the side encounters. Continue toward the office, and once you enter, a cutscene will begin.
After a lengthy conversation with the boss of the family, your objective will be updated to search for clues about Saki.
Look For Clues About Saki
Head toward the quest marker shown on the map, and you will run into an old woman. She will provide you with a clue about where Saki might be. Your next destination will be the convenience store in Hatsumachi. On your way there, you will encounter Tamashiro Family grunts.
Defeat The Tamashiro Family Members
These enemies will not be very difficult to defeat. You can catch them in combo strings and take them down one at a time. Use your regular combos effectively and make sure to utilize Heat Actions, since your Heat gauge fills up quickly during this fight.
After defeating them, you will receive another tip. Your next objective is to head to the Tamashiro Family office. At the entrance, you will find Saki’s sketchbook. Rikiya will leave to inform Nakahara about the situation, which means you will be on your own from this point forward.
When you interact with the door, you will be given two options. You can either enter immediately or prepare first. If you want to complete any side activities, restock items, or explore a bit more, do that before going inside. Once you are ready, enter the building and prepare to face the Tamashiro Family grunts.
Find The Patriarch’s Office
All of the enemies inside will be armed with weapons, so the key strategy here is to stun them. You can break their guard by pressing Circle. After breaking their block, do not press Triangle right away, as that will trigger a Heat Action. Instead, wait briefly and then use a combo string that includes Triangle to properly stun your opponents before finishing them off.
Clear the area and continue moving forward toward the patriarch’s office.
Go Up The Stairs And Defeat More Enemies
After defeating the first group, head upstairs. You will find lockers blocking your path, but you can destroy them by attacking. As you move up, more enemies will appear, and this section is much more intense.
Several enemies will be carrying guns, so prioritize taking them out first. You will also need to destroy the lockers to fully clear the path and access certain enemies. Focus on counterattacks whenever possible and make good use of quickstep to avoid unnecessary damage. Once you defeat everyone on that floor, continue upward, eliminate the next wave of enemies, and then enter the marked door.
Enter The Door To Fight More Enemies
Before stepping inside, check your health. If it is low, use recovery items to replenish it. Inside, you will encounter even more enemies, so activating Dragon mode is a smart decision. I recommend using Dragon Rush in the Ryukyu battle style, as some of its combo strings allow you to deal area damage to multiple opponents at once. Make sure to use the finisher against Onishi to clear the fight efficiently.
Note
If you are having trouble with this fighting section, try changing the battle style. The Ryukyu battle style is a little challenging to master, so switching to another style may help. However, I recommend using the Ryukyu battle style here because it can break guards and perform instant heat actions that deal a lot of damage. Also, since there are many enemies around, its Dragon Boost is much more effective in crowd situations.
Use The Ryukyu Battle Style To Take Care Of More Enemies At Once
After you have taken out the first wave, many more enemies will rush in. Since none of them have an aura, you can freely use the Surujin to stun them and deal damage to multiple enemies, depending on your placement. Once you have defeated everyone, follow the quest marker, go up the stairs, and you will find a Stamina Light on the side. Defeat more enemies, then enter the next door, where there is a Toughness Light on the left side.
Once you are inside, defeat more punks, proceed through the next door, and you will finally find Saki. There, you will also meet the patriarch of the Tamashiro Family, Tetsuo Tamashiro.
Defeat Tamashiro
Tetsuo Tamashiro, as you may have guessed, is the boss fight of this chapter. He is tough and has several ranged attacks. He can throw knives at you, and dodging them can be tricky, so I recommend blocking instead. He is also quite fast, so do not attack recklessly.
He can quickly move behind you and deal heavy damage. Even if you are landing hits on him, he can interrupt you in the middle of your combo. Because of that, counterattacks will play a major role in this fight. If you are not comfortable performing counterattacks, this battle may become more difficult.
After fighting him for a while, his aura will eventually deplete. Once that happens, you can become more aggressive. However, keep in mind that he can still unleash dangerous combo strings, so avoid charging in carelessly.
To deal consistent damage, I recommend breaking his guard by pressing Circle and then following up with a Heat Action. Since the Heat gauge fills up fairly quickly in this fight, you can use this strategy multiple times. When you nearly deplete his first health bar, a scripted event will trigger.
Defeating The Boss And Ending The Chapter
During the scripted sequence, you will need to press the correct buttons to avoid taking damage. After you completely deplete his first health bar, I recommend activating Dragon Boost. Use it to go fully on the offensive, and when the Dragon Boost meter is about to run out, use the finisher. You do not need to activate the finisher immediately when the prompt appears. Instead, wait until the gauge is almost empty to maximize its impact.
By following this approach, you should be able to win the fight. If he still has some health left, perform a few more combo strings and finish him off. After the battle, a cutscene will trigger, and Nakahara will appear. The next cutscene will be quite lengthy, and once it concludes, Chapter 3, Power Struggle in Yakuza Kiwami 3, will come to an end.
