Fish Tanks – A family-friendly party game about fish in tanks

Fish Tanks is a multiplayer arena game in which you control a fish in a tank (the cannon kind). Developer SockMonkey Studios tells us more.

What do you get when you add a fish to a tank and add an unquenchable thirst for starfish? A family-friendly collect-a-thon… but throw in crazy power-ups and wacky arenas and prepare for total anarchy! SockMonkey’s premier title, Fish Tanks, is now available to wishlist on Steam; with Early Access due for release in July 2021.

‘Oh, Flopping Hell’

A pick-up-and-play title, the objective of Fish Tanks is simple enough: collect and bring back as many starfish as possible. But wait, who’s that? It’s your friend and they want to play too, they’re collecting all of your starfish, now they’ve picked up the octo-cannon, oh no, they’re shooting it at you! It’s about to hit you – direct hit! You’ve been shot out of your tank but no worries – just rush on back to your base and get anoth- oh… they’re still chasing you.

Flop back to your base without getting KO-ed and then blast, grapple and shoot your way back to the top before time runs out!

Chaotic Content

With more content coming after launch, Early Access brings Starfish Frenzy mode as well as eight playable characters, each with unique skins.

In Starfish Frenzy, you select your teammates and prepare your attack on the opposing team. Race against your friends (or foes) to fill your base with starfish and then leave the losers sleeping with the fishes.

SockMonkey Studios’ Premier Title

After working with some really great studios over the past eight years on a range of global games such as Deliver Us the Moon and Prison Architect, Fish Tanks is set to be SockMonkey Studio’s first original title. Battles take place in a collection of uniquely-themed arenas and are fuelled by a frantic fight against the clock to collect and bring more starfish back to base than your opponents.

Reeled in? Wishlist Fish Tanks on Steam today to be the first to play.
