Netflix has entered the gaming space in a big way and sees mobile gaming as a key aspect of its business. But what are the best free indie games on Netflix? And how you can play indie games on Netflix for free?
Since the launch of Netflix Games in November 2021, Netflix has released over 50 games, all of which are available on the Apple App store and Google Play, as well as through the Netflix App, you can even access content across multiple devices using a single account.
Netflix Games are only available to Netflix subscribers – if you are not currently a Netflix subscriber you can sign up here and receive your first month free, that’ll give you access to all Netflix games at no charge for 30 days.
Netflix is working with a host of top developers and publishers to develop its games offering, these include original IPs from the likes of indie legends like Sam Barlow, Devolver and UsTwo, alongside popular show spin offs like Stranger Things.
There’s already a great selection of games available to Netflix subscribers and it’s a real mixed bag. There are puzzle titles, AAA’s and also a great selection of indie titles. Netflix Games cater to a diverse range of audiences and age groups, and adult content is locked to children.
One of the great things about Netflix Games is you access all games using the same subscription as its film and television package, so you’ll not need to take out a new subscription or pay any additional costs, for what are some awesome games.

Reigns: Three Kingdoms
Netflix are working with another fantastic developer here, none other than Devolver are behind Reigns: Three Kingdoms. The game takes inspiration from a Chinese epic, The Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Reigns: Three Kingdoms puts players into the turbulent final years of the Han dynasty. Encounter the many factions, wars, and heroes of the saga as you swipe your way through negotiations, marry to strengthen alliances, and convert to gain more power.

Desta: The Memories Between
And another great indie dev is behind this one, Monument Valley’s UsTwo. Desta: The Memories Between navigates some poignant themes in a way in which only a video game can do – exploring how a non-binary protagonist can repair broken relationships, whilst transitioning through dreamlike worlds and all via a turn-based dodgeball gaming mechanic.

Valiant Hearts: Coming Home
Developed by original core team members from Ubisoft Montpellier Valiant Hearts: Coming Home the first of three Ubisoft mobile games coming to Netflix Games. OXENFREE
From Night School Studio OXENFREE is a supernatural thriller about a group of friends who unwittingly open a ghostly rift.
