Part 1: Beauty

You begin by being instructed to bring ‘beauty’. Pick up the notebook lying on the floor near you, and then go to the page for ‘Beauty’.

As you can see, you need to bring a butterfly to Clem in this chapter.

Close the notebook and go up the stairs to reach the kitchen.

Go right to exit the kitchen and enter the dining room. Here, pick up the glass jar on the cabinet to the right.

Open your inventory and use the Separate button to separate the nails from the glass jar.

Exit the dining room by going to the right and entering the hall.

Here, go south to enter the backyard.

You’ll find the blue butterfly you need flying around here, but if you approach it, it’ll fly inside the house. If you approach it inside the house, it’ll fly back out.

Ignore the butterfly for now and go right to enter the shed.

Pick up the nail-gun on the wall and then open up your inventory. Combine the nails with the nailgun.

Exit the shed and go left to drive the butterfly away to the other window. Here, close the right window.

Approach the left window to drive the butterfly into the house – close the left window as well. Attempt to leave this area and the window will open again.

Return to the window, close it again, and then interact with it once more. Use the nail-gun on the window to nail it shut.

This traps the butterfly in the house – but it will still flit between the dining room and hall if you try to chase it.

Now enter the greenhouse which is to the left of the window you nailed shut. Keep going left and pick up the trowel lying in a bucket full of mud.

Exit the greenhouse and approach the pet grave between the two windows.

Use the trowel on the grave and then pick up the key that you find in there.

Re-enter the house and go to the dining room. From the dining room, go left to the kitchen (the butterfly will be driven to the hall as you do this).

Enter the kitchen pantry, which is beyond the closed door to the right of the window.

In the pantry, go to the right and use the key with the keyhole on one of the green drawers. This opens the drawer.

Pick up all three items inside – a handle, a note, and a piece of metal.

Now make your way back to the greenhouse (as you walk in the hall, you will drive the butterfly back to the dining room).

Go all the way left in the greenhouse and interact with the base of the statue that is inside.

On the puzzle screen, use your inventory to place your piece of metal along with all the others. Then, arrange the pieces so that you form the symbol shown on the relief.

Begin by placing the top-right piece, rotating it into place, then the bottom-left piece, which forms half of the pupil. Then use the top-left piece, which forms the second half of the pupil, and finally, the bottom-right piece to finish the lower part of the eye symbol.

Now pick up the object in the statue’s hand. This is a glass.

Open your inventory and combine the glass with the handle, which will get you the Lens of Truth.

Exit the greenhouse and return to the hall. Interact with the book that’s on the small table to the right of the blue armchair.

Here, use the Lens of Truth to reveal the eye symbols on the book and thereby uncover the book’s true contents.

This book teaches you which flower you need to attract butterflies, so now put the book down and return to the greenhouse.

Approach the five flowerpots to the left of the greenhouse screen (right of the statue), and pick up the yellow-red flowers, i.e. the pansies.

Now make your way over to the dining room again.

Approach the blue vase from the left (doing so will drive the butterfly into the hall). Interact with the vase and place the pansies in it.

Return to the hall and approach the butterfly to drive it back into the dining room. Then, return to the dining room and approach the butterfly to make it go to the pansies.

Approach the vase as you did before and use the glass jar to capture the butterfly. Now exit the dining room back into the hall.

In the hall, go up the stairs leading right and open the door there. Go to the right and interact with the half-open door to deliver Beauty.
