Dordogne Collectibles Walkthrough – Chapter 5

Welcome to the Into Indie Games collectibles walkthrough for Dordogne. This guide covers all the collectibles in the game, including stickers, words, tapes, and letters.

Chapter 5: The Caves
We begin this chapter where we left off adult Mimi – in the attic.
Letter: Go to the turntable to the left of the train tracks to find a letter.
Once you’ve picked it up, head on out of the attic, down the stairs, and then out of the house. Head to the tree to the right of the house and interact with it.
Follow the on-screen instructions to take out the jar from the tree trunk and inspect its contents.
This takes adult Mimi into another flashback, so it’s time to get back to child Mimi.
As child Mimi, begin by exiting the bathroom and going to Mimi’s room (the door will be open already).
Tape: There is a tape on the dresser, in front of the mirror.
With the tape collected, go downstairs and go to the living room to find Nora.
Tape: There is a tape on the coffee table that is in front of the TV.
Word: Go to the left, so that you’re next to the sofa and at Nora’s feet. You’ll find the word “Sneaky” here.
Head outdoors once you’re done collecting stuff.
Sticker: Go to the potted plant straight down from the front door (not the one near the garden). You’ll find a sticker to the left of the plant.
Head out of the gate and onto the street. Go to the far right of the street to the lookout point, where you can take photographs and recordings.
Sound: Church bells.
Sound: Water rapids.
Sound: Crowing rooster.
Sound: Leaves in the wind.
Once you’re done taking pictures and recordings, head towards the river from the usual path.
Word: On the way to the river, stick to the left side of the screen and you’ll find the word “Peace” near some dark bushes.
Continue on to the river.
Word: Go to the left from where you enter the riverbanks area, where you’ll find the word “Summer”.
Now before getting on the kayak, go to the middle of the river to capture a recording.
Sound: Insects.
Head to the kayak and start rowing. Keep going past the beach until you reach an area marked by a red exclamation mark.
Word: Head towards the camera and in roughly the middle portion of the bottom of the screen, you’ll find the word “Dark”.
Now go the jar hanging from the tree branch and grab it. Head towards the mouth of the cave to enter a new screen, where you are to catch fireflies into the jar. Successfully putting the fireflies in the jar will get you a sticker.
With your jar of fireflies ready, enter the cave.
From here, much like the mountain section in Chapter 4, you simply have to follow the given path. However, there are a bunch of words on the way, so we’ll focus only on those.
Word: You’ll find the word “Alone” as you go right from the entrance to the cave.
Word: You’ll find the word “Impressed” at the far right end of the cave from where you entered it.
Word: You’ll find the word “Lost” just before you enter the smaller cave full of bats.
Word: You’ll find the word “Doubt” on the incline after you exit the smaller cave full of bats.
Word: You’ll find the word “Anger?” as you continue right from where you found “Doubt”, but just before the brown wall that you’re supposed to climb.
Word: You’ll find the word “Coulobre” as you go left from the brown wall that you climbed. Note that you have to move with the fireflies in this area. The game doesn’t seem to progress if you don’t let the fireflies take the lead.
After you finish the cutscene, you’ll get a location sticker. Go to the back of Renaud’s hideout and interact with the red book.
When you look out from Renaud’s hideout, pull out your recorder and record a bunch of sounds. Of course, you can also take pictures if you like.
Sound: Birds chirping.
Sound: Dog howling.
Sound: Leaves rustling.
Sound: Water rapids.
Sound: Farm.
Once you’re done, watch the next cutscene and dialogue. Afterwards, you’ll have to imitate Renaud’s Coulobre call. This is fairly simple – you just have to make sounds in the the same directions as Renaud.
Round 1: Up, Right
Round 2: Up, Right, Left
Round 3: Up, Right, Left, Up
Another cutscene follows, after which Mimi hastily returns home. After the cutscene, head out of Mimi’s room and then out of the house. Talk to Nora in the garden.
After the conversation, create a binder page to complete the chapter and head on to the next chapter of the game.
