Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Verne: The Shape of Fantasy.

Chapter 1: An Ocean of Despair

Once you gain control of Verne, go left and pick up the ringing telephone. When you regain control, use the switch to the left of the telephone and go out of the door.

In the next screen, go to the far left so that Verne remarks that the way is blocked.

Go to the right and press the golden button located to the right of the signs saying “Map, Labs, Mess Bunks”.

Go up the ladder, then go left and press the leftmost button in this corridor to go outside.

Once outside, run left and stand immediately in front of the upright pipe. Wait here for the light to pass you, and then run left to the next (non-broken) pipe.

When the coast is clear, make a break for the next pipe to the left.

Continue left when you can and use the hatch when you can.

Go down the ladder to your right. When you regain control of Verne, go slightly left and down the ladder to the left of the two corpses.

Use the golden switch to the far left of this corridor.

Now go back up the ladder to where the corpses were and run left to go up a ladder that takes you to the Chart Room.

Run to the far left and interact with the door there to gain access to the Bridge.

After the conversation in the Bridge, return to your previous location – go down the ladder from the Chart Room, then down the ladder from the Air Room (which has the two corpses), and left to press the golden button. Go down the ladder when you can.

Run right and go down the next ladder. Run to the far left of this corridor and open the door. Run left, open the next door, and then open the box to the left of the chest.

With the IMAG in hand, go right and use the telephone. Afterwards, activate the IMAG and use it to rewrite reality. Go right to reach the door and use the IMAG once more to fix the door.

Go right again and use the IMAG to have the man release the paper in his hand. Pick up the paper and go to the far right to use the golden button to the right of the elevator.

Go down the unlocked ladder and go left until Verne remarks on the blockage. Use the IMAG with the option “Bombproof” and drop down the broken ladder.

Now go to the far right and use the rightmost button. Then, use the IMAG to have the emergency hatch opened.

Go down the opened hatch and proceed right.Use the golden button along the way, and then examine the electric board to start fixing it.

Move the circuits so that the red circuit is aligned with the arrows.

Go up the ladder and then watch the final conversation of this chapter. You’ll have to use the IMAG at full power in this conversation – remember that you can turn off the quick-time events in the options if you wish.
