Once you’re ready to move on, go to The Outpost, which you can access by going up the stairs to the west of the save router in Lapwing Village.

Proceed east from where the Professors formerly were, and go north into the elevator to proceed down.

Undergrowth

On reaching the Undergrowth area, go west for a save router, and then further west to find the mysterious shaman person.

Continue south to enter the Undergrowth proper.

Go all the way south down the path until you reach some stone stairs going down to the east.

Proceed east from here up to the purple mushroom, then follow the path stretching east.

Eventually, you’ll come across some more purple mushrooms. Continue following the path to the northeast, and it will eventually bend to the northwest.

Continue west and up the green mushroom. On the next piece of land, go north and then go west up the stairs.

Talk to the lapwing who’s on the platform up the stairs to get the quest Koomite. To beat this quest, you simply have to beat Lucky in combat. Talk to him again to begin sparring.

On beating Lucky, you’ll be rewarded with an Attack Sight.

Go down the stairs now and go west along the path until you come to the bend going north. Before you do go north, go a bit south and strike the upright wooden bridge to lower it.

Proceed southeast along this bridge and you’ll get to a dirt mound. Dig it up to reveal a blue salamander inside.

You can continue east for some lore readables. After you’re done, go back up across the bridge and the north to enter the Sunken Spires area.

Sunken Spires

Just after the save router here, you’ll be met with a fork. In this walkthrough, we’ll go east, up the green mushroom.

Follow the path east, then south, and east again. Go up the slope leading north and across some stone platforms.

On the second stone platform, you’ll spot a way to the east across some smaller, more perilous stone platforms. This will take you to the mysterious shaman person.

Go northwest from the big stone platform and then northeast where the path branches, so that you reach a large pile of rubble blocking a log.

Get Lint to dig through the rubble and then go through to access a chest in a pond on the other side. This chest will grant you a Will Up.

Return to the fork and go northwest for another fork. The path to the northeast, leading to the professors, marks the end of this level. We still have more to explore, though, so go west.

The path bends north before forking – go east at this fork and break open the dirt mound to find a green salamander.

Go all the way west now and follow the path as it bends to the south. When you get to some purple mushrooms, jump up on them. (The path leading south from here leads to the start of the level, that is, the western fork at the start of the level).

Go up the purple mushrooms and into the stone structure.

In here, interact with the green chest to the north to find a Nut Bow. Proceed east and then north to exit the structure.

From the exit of the structure, go east, jump up the purple mushrooms, and land on the other side to meet with the professors.

After chatting with the professors, go north to enter The Excavation Site.

The Excavation Site

Go north down the slope to find a save router. Then, follow the path to the southeast, east, and then north.

Go up the stairs and then west across the purple mushroom. After the mushroom, go north until you reach the camera, which will also put you into a boss fight with Maple.

The Fish Hammer you received from completing McKook’s side-quest is a very handy weapon in this fight.

After defeating Maple, go a little north and east to find a green chest. Inside, you’ll find a Wallet Upgrade, which lets you carry more clovers.

Go east and north from here to complete the level.

After this is done, you will take control of Jester. Simply follow the stone path here – go south, then east, then northeast and north. When you get to the far eastern part, the segment will conclude.

When you regain control of Loaf, talk to Lint and Dub to learn more about them, and then interact with the campfire to finish this segment.

In the morning, you’ll be back at the Outpost area, next to Lapwing Village. Make your way back to Uptown from here by passing through Lapwing Village and the Outskirts.

Uptown

Once in Uptown, Papa Baker’s trial will start immediately. After the trial, go to Papa Baker’s Bakery, which is to west of the Royal Castle’s entrance.

Approach Papa Baker to (almost) complete this part of the game.

As Jester, go east and then north into the Royal Castle.

Once in the Academics’ Guild, you’ll have to destroy research to find what you’re looking for. The specific research you need to destroy is a pair of books near the back of the room.
