Chapter 5

Begin by going right, where you’ll encounter a patch of red chilli peppers. Interact with them twice to pick up a couple.

Then, proceed right to the next screen. Here, you’ll enter into a conversation with a researcher named Elle.

After you finish conversing with her, go up the path toward the house and treehouse in the background.

Go to the left now and interact with the door to Graham’s house. After the conversation that follows, use your key on the door again to enter Graham’s house.

There’s a lot of things to interact with in Graham’s house. Pick up the corkscrew near the window to start. Also interact with the power switch to the right of the window.

This turns off the red bulb – pick up the red bulb once it’s turned off.

That’s all we need in Graham’s apartment for now, so feel free to exit once you’re done rummaging through his things.

Back at the screen with Otto working on his treehouse, go to the far right and interact with the vent hatch right below the yellow ‘Caution’ sign.

After the conversation that follows, pick up the leaf pile on the ground to Otto’s right. Use the leaf pile on the vent hatch to stuff it in.

Now go south to return to the area where Syren has blockaded the route ahead. Here, you’ll find another leaf pile near the bottom-right of the screen, next to some oblong wooden boxes.

Before depositing these leaves, go left, back to the area where you started this chapter. You’ll find a final leaf pile near some big rocks.

Pick up these leaves as well.

Now return to the vent hatch and put both of your leaf piles into it. This distracts the Syren researchers, so go south now to return to the area with Elle.

Pick up the notepad on the infoboard to the left of Elle and pick up the key from the notepad. Then, go to the far right, past the tents.

On the next screen, interact with the Syren Corp. box on the floor and then use the key on the zipper lock. Go through the opened portion into the tent.

Pick up one of the test flasks right behind where Graham is standing (on the right side of the tent). Then, exit the tent by going south from where the flasks are.

Backtrack all the way to Graham’s house (by passing through the area with Elle, then the area with Otto). Here, use either the red bulb or the chilli peppers with the metal pot near the window. Here, we went with the red bulb.

Once your red liquid is done boiling, exit the house and go all the way back to inside the tent where you found the flask.

Go left in the tent, but time your movement so that you don’t get caught by the researcher patrolling outside the tent.

Use the flask with red liquid with the Water pH reader on the desk to the left.

After the conversation that follows, re-enter the tent and pick up another flask.

Now return to where Otto is and interact with the rusty red nails on the workbench to his left. Once you’ve picked them up, go back to Graham’s house.

Use the rusty nails with the metal pot to boil them, and then repeat what you did previously: take the flask with red liquid to the tent and put it in the Water pH Reader.

This will conclude the chapter.

Note that you will complete the chapter only if you boiled the rusty nails. If you boiled the chilli peppers (or the red bulb), you will still have to boil the rusty nails after. This means that the process can take either 2 attempts as shown here, or 3 attempts if you try boiling all available items.
