Chapter 5 Exploration

As usual, to start exploring Chapter 5, we’ll go back to the gatehouse. This time around, we have a letter and a key both. Pick up the key, which is for the Formal Garden, and read the letter if you wish.

To access the Formal Garden, you’ll have to go all the way back to the Rose Garden. The way to it is through the Screens Passage in the Main Hall, then the Back Terrace, and then down the stairs to the Rose Garden.

Unlock and open the door to continue. You’ll now see that the Formal Garden area of your Herbarium map is now filled in.

As you approach the pool in front of the grotto, you’ll notice that it’s drained at the moment. Go past it and take a right when you approach the stairs that go up to the ‘Garden Paths’ area.

This is the Gardening Workspace area. Read the letter on the teal table to learn that the lawn mower was broken after coming into contact with a hard object.

Now head back to the Formal Garden and go down the shaded stairs to the right of the Folly. Follow the path until the pond is to your left. Go right to find a wooden lawn mower.

Approach the lawn mower and pick up the gray object in front of the lawn mower.

Take it all the way up to the pool in front of the grotto, and insert it into the pedestal in front of the pool. This will fill up the pool and allow you access to the grotto.

Next, go west, past the pool and up the stairs into the ‘Garden Paths’ area. When you get to the crossroads here, turn right and unlock the door to the Long Hedgerow. This opens up a path to the Entrance Garden.

Back in the Garden Paths area, go south down the stairs until you get to the area in the screenshot below.

Enter this structure and go left to find a tray with a key: this one for the Boat House. Pick it up.

Return to where you found the lawn mower, and follow the path until you get to the Boat House door. Open it up and proceed.

Continue down the path to find the Boat House, and then go up the Boat House stairs. Open the gate to the left and proceed up the path to get to a wooden door.

Open this door to get to the Viewpoint.
