Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough of VirtuaVerse!

VirtuaVerse is a point-and-click adventure game, so it’s best to explore on your own. Pick up what you can, interact with things, talk to people, and examine all the things you can! But if you’re still stuck and don’t know what to do to proceed, find out in our walkthrough guide.

Slums – Preparing the Tattoo Machine

Our objective in this part is to find out Jay’s whereabouts. To do this, you’ll have to deal with the gangs that call the slums home.

Head out of the apartment the same way as before, and notice that you can now turn your AVR headset on or off. If you turn it on, you may see things you cannot see otherwise. However sometimes, the AVR headset may also display visuals that obscure the things that are there in physical reality.

Use the balcony keypad to go down and then get on your bike. Set your destination as the Slums.

Head into the Squat (double-doors behind the bike) and talk to one of the two writers. Mention that your girlfriend is a writer, and watch what happens.

After this, talk to the Laying Down Guy and ask him what kind of tattoo he’s getting. Also talk to the tattooist and tell him he has a nice machine. Next, look at the wire on the ground (between the tattoo machine and the men at the table).

Use the touchscreen and attempt to change the design. After you are told off by the tattooist, head out of the Squat and back onto the street.

Examine the wires heading out of the Squat and to the Electric Box (they are directly above the bike). Nathan will comment that it’s worth examining the Electric Box, so do just that: interact with the Electric Box.

Here, you need to install a touchscreen to be able to operate the tattoo machine inside.

Exit the Electric Box screen and interact with your Bike. Set your destination to Pill Street and now go all the way to the hardware vendor in Backstreet.

Talk to him and ask him about a touchscreen. Once you have purchased it, head back to your bike and return to the Slums.

Open up the Electrical Box again and use the Touchscreen from your inventory on the Touchscreen Mount.

Below, you need to connect the right cables. This requires some real-world knowledge of cables, but you can get by with trial-and-error. The solution is: Black goes to GND-, yellow to VIDEO, white to INPUT, and red to 5V+.

Once the LED lights up, you can change the tattoo drawing. However, you’re first going to need to find out what drawing you should change it to. Exit the Electric Box.
