Troll Forest, Part 2 (Butcher Pt. 1)

We find ourselves in a tricky situation after the next cutscene. Proceed right and forwards, along the deer’s leg until you find yourself on a cage. Climb up the vines and shimmy left until you can climb up onto the tunnel. Crouch to enter the tunnel. Keep going forwards through the tunnel.

Proceed forwards to the end of the area and jump right, onto the cage. Proceed right and wade rightwards through all the red stuff there. Get onto the grating platform at the end and then jump onto the vines that cover the wall to the north. Go north along the wall and then follow the vines downwards so that you reach the platform at the bottom.

Climb up onto the cage platform to the right and then go south.

The next sequence is something of a boss fight. You must avoid the troll’s cleaver, which he will slam down onto the table. Dodging the cleaver is a bit of a challenge, so first stand still to ‘bait’ the troll. When the troll starts moving, run away. Make sure you have space to run to!

After dodging three times, some gooey globs will fall onto the table. Pick up one of them with the aim button and ‘shoot’, i.e. throw it at the troll’s eye. This way, you’ll be able to turn the tables on the troll, at least metaphorically so.

In the second ‘phase’ of the fight, the troll may slam down on the table, which causes Olle to get stunned. Avoid this attack by jumping exactly when the troll slams down, so that you avoid the shockwave by being in the air. Repeat this pattern now – run away from the cleaver, and jump when the troll slams down.

After two more ‘attacks’ from your side, your way will be cleared. Jump onto the vines past the cleared path, then climb them up and right onto the wooden platform. Head past the opening to the right, beyond the wooden plank. This takes you to a new area.
