Skogsra’s Grove
Proceed forwards towards the light and through the hedge. Proceed forwards, taking a right at the end of the path, and then continue down the path ahead until you reach a grove. Which is, well, Skogsra’s grove.
It’s time for the Skogsra boss fight!
In the first phase of this fight, Skogsra can use three attacks on you.
The first attack is a direct shooting attack, which you can only block by being behind a tree.
The second attack is a red wave, presumably of either blood or cranberry jam. You can either block this attack by being behind a tree, or you can jump when the wave reaches you to avoid touching it.
The third attack causes red spikes to pop up around trees. This attack is easily avoidable by… well, not being around trees when the ground starts to boil and bubble.
Skogsra won’t use any other attacks while she’s using this attack, so you’re safe out in the open.
Note that each attack Skogsra makes is preceded by a unique spell that she recites. If you can remember which spell is which, you can guess the attack that’s being brewed.
Now, as for your offense, you can’t damage Skogsra right-away. Instead, you must attack the statues located on the trees, which have a red glow on them. Aim and shoot just like you practiced with Lillemor.
Destroy five of these statues with your rock of light, and then hit Skogsra with it directly. This will trigger a cutscene, after which you can go to Skogsra and press the prompted button at the right time to stab her.
Or well, you can try to, anyway. Welcome to the second phase of the fight! In the second phase of the fight, Skogsra will debut a new attack, which causes a storm to brew up and small explosions to occur at random locations. Just avoid these explosions as they form.
Be mindful because the explosions will usually occur just ahead of where you’re running, and you don’t want to run into one.
This time around, the statues you need to destroy are facing inwards, towards Skogsra. You have to shoot them from the other side of the arena, as seen below.
Continue busting the statues and then take a shot at Skogsra. Once again, go to her, press the button, and enter the next phase of the fight.
In the third phase, you have no trees for cover anymore, and Skogsra has a new attack where she will bring down beams of light that can kill you if you step into them.
She can now combine attacks, so you have a lot of running around to do.
Skogsra will retire the shooting attack, so you don’t have to worry about hiding from that anymore. Whenever you have the chance, take a shot at the statues.
They’re grouped very close and are in the open, so taking them out is fairly straightforward if you can find the time to. Of course, don’t get greedy and give Skogsra an opening to get you.
Note that you can take out like four of the statues right when the fight starts, while Skogsra chants up her spell. You probably won’t get such an opportunity again, though.
Also note that you can only destroy the statues if they are highlighted with the ‘ring’ symbol when you aim at them. Don’t bother shooting if you don’t see the white ring on the statue.
After destroying all the statues, shoot at Skogsra and run towards her. Then run towards her again, and press the button prompts to stab her.
You will have to stab her 5-6 times and then let the button prompt expire. If you stab her fewer times than that, she will kill you. Just keep going until Olle is as covered in blood as he can get.
With that, the Skogsra boss fight is complete, and you have completed Skogsra’s Grove.
