Act 2 (Contd.)
On starting this level, your first order of business is quite unintuitive: move the drum located in front of the toy soldier box so that it sends your toy soldiers back on the table, going towards the balloon machine on the far end.
The soldiers will eventually hit a cannon located on a smaller table. Turn this cannon so that it targets the airship in the corner of the room (to the right of this table).
Once all your soldiers are clear of the drum, turn the drum so that it now sends your soldiers to the cannon on the table near the window.
Have this cannon target the other cannon that’s on the sofa, and then have that cannon target the upright wrapped present on the pile of presents.
Provided your soldiers have hit the first cannon (which was targeting the airship), the balloon on top of the cake will have descended. You’ll find a prism block in there.
Pick it up and place it on the mantelpiece, so that it directs your soldiers to the book in front of the exit door. This way, your soldiers will eventually make it to the mantelpiece and go to the exit door.
Once you’re done, exit this room the way you came and follow the will o’ the wisp to your next destination.
Level 22 of Tin Hearts is a straightforward cinematic, and so there is no walkthrough for it.
After the cinematic sequence, go downstairs and to the garden. This level of Tin Hearts is massive, so pay attention to the walkthrough!
This is a massive level, so begin by locating the toy soldier box on a workbench next to the white building.
The exit door is in the toy windmill right next to the toy soldier box. Getting your soldiers there, however, is going to require you to make a tour of the entire garden.
Open the box to begin. Your path up to the chessboard is fairly straightforward, but once there, your soldiers will be stopped by an out-of-place train.
Move the drum below the table so that it sends your soldiers to the cannon (on the same table as the chessboard). Adjust the cannon so that it targets the train next to the chessboard.
Then, put in a a red puzzle block opposite the cannon. You can get the red block either from the one in front of the toy soldier box, or from the gazebo with the easel and painting in it.
Once the train is knocked to its side, pick up the green puzzle block on the table and put it on the chair, so that the soldiers will drop off the table, fall on the chair, and make their way to the drum.
Move the drum so that it sends your soldiers into the opening on the chessboard, through where the toy train formerly was. Of course, make sure all your soldiers are already clear of the first bounce off the drum!
The path from the pinwheels ahead is mostly straightforward again – follow it to the drum next to the bicycle. Move this drum so that it sends your soldiers to the balloon machine on top of the shelves.
Follow the pinwheels to the sundial – the soldiers will drop off of the sundial, so make sure you move the train just right to catch them with the drum.
Place the other trains and their drums so that the soldiers bounce their way over the drums and onto the final drum, next to the gazebo. See the screenshot below for one possible version of this.
Following the final drum, the soldiers will cross bumpy path. Put a green block in place here to redirect the soldiers into the gazebo. You can find the green block inside the gazebo itself.
Once inside the gazebo, we need the soldiers to hit the cannon on the table next to the easel. To do this, place a red block on the crescent plug (you can get the red block either from the start of the level, or from the chessboard table).
Also place a blue block opposite the red block, so that your soldiers will be redirected towards the red block again (as opposite to making an about turn).
Go behind the painting and adjust the cannon so that it targets the wooden tray on the easel. There’s a blue crosshair-shaped symbol on the tray, so you know where to hit it.
Allow the soldiers to hit the cannon and once the final soldier is clear of the red block, remove the red block and put it back in the square puzzle block set on the gazebo.
This way, the soldiers will now make their way onto the easel tray and go straight to the drum on the other side.
Place the yellow and green puzzle blocks so that the soldiers are redirected from the drum towards the paintbrush and beyond.
The path is once again straightfoward for a while. Along the way, you will unlock the ability to manipulate pinwheels.
Now possess the pinwheel at the end of the green bench and direct it towards the pinwheel next to the gazebo. Direct the pinwheel a little to the right of the gazebo pinwheel.
Next, manipulate the pinwheel next to the gazebo to send your soldiers to to the pinwheel next to the fountain.
Possess the pinwheel next to the fountain and direct it towards the pinwheel near the swing.
Finally, possess the pinwheel near the swing and manipulate it toward the windmill near the start of the level.
Now return to the bench and put a yellow block on it, so that your soldiers will go flying on the path you’ve set out for them.
Keep an eye on your soldiers and correct the pinwheels’ directions if necessary, and keep going until the soldiers reach the windmill at the start of the level.
After clearing the windmill (which you can’t manipulate), the soldiers will return on a familiar path. This time, however, you can move the pinwheels that you formerly could not.
Leave the pinwheel in the wheelbarrow as it is, but possess the pinwheel in the flowerbed (with the white and red flowers) so that your soldiers go onto the attraction with the palace inside it.
Aim the pinwheel so that your soldiers will be just to the right of the puzzle block plug, causing them to go into the palace and loop about.
Now wait for the soldiers to get there. The first soldier will become free, so possess it.
Go to the opposite side of the attraction from where the soldiers are entering it, and you’ll find a drum. Adjust this drum so that it sends your free soldier onto the drum in the back of the attraction.
Now jump onto the drum, which will send you to the other drum, and then on top of the attraction.
Head into the balloon machine and jump straight ahead, so that you land on the small flowerbed with another balloon machine on it.
Let go of the free soldier now and adjust the pinwheel in the barrel, aiming it towards the cannon on the workbench.
Aim this cannon toward the other cannon, which is on a plank on the ladder, and aim that second cannon at the birdhouse, which is on the white tree.
Now return to your free soldier and send him through the balloon machine, flying toward the first cannon. Upon pressing the cannon button, the bird will fly out of the birdhouse.
Now let go of the free soldier and re-adjust the pinwheel in the barrel, so that it is aimed toward the drum near the birdhouse tree.
Return to the free soldier and move him through the balloon machine opposite the cannon. Turn right and jump toward the pinwheel in the barrel.
If you’ve done everything right so far, the free soldier will land on the drum and bounce up to the flowerbed. Now jump your way to the birdhouse and get past it, onto the next flowerbed.
Continue off the flowerbed and onto the saw below. Go across the plank and up the ladder onto another flowerbed.
Drop off the flowerbed near the second white tree, so that you land on the drum below. You will land on a shelf – go toward the ladder from here and climb all the way up.
Now make your way to the crate ahead, then the flowerbed, and through the white fence.
Finally, you’ll find a cannon – don’t approach it yet. Let go of the free soldier and manipulate this cannon.
Have the cannon aim at the pipe, and then have your free soldier hit the cannon. This stops the windmill at long last.
Now have your free soldier jump onto the drum below the flowerbed and return to the start of the level.
Our goal now is to get the remaining soldiers back to the start of the level. This is easier than it sounds.
We simply have to reverse the pinwheels so that the soldiers will fly from the little bench next to the attraction, onto the flowerbed, onto the wheelbarrow, and finally onto the workbench at the start of the level.
Adjust the flowerbed pinwheel to point toward the wheelbarrow pinwheel, and then adjust the wheelbarrow pinwheel to point toward the workbench.
Finally, put a yellow block on the attraction, sending your soldiers down to the bench with the doll on it. You’ll find a yellow block on the chair next to the chessboard.
With this done, your soldiers will finally make their way into the windmill. Make sure to send your free soldier in as well!
