Growbot Walkthrough – Garden Part 1 (Fixing the Captain)

Stuck in Growbot? This walkthrough will take you through finding the Captain, the spanner you need to fix him, as well as a new flower sound.

Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Growbot! At all times, it is recommended that you explore the space station for yourself, talk to everyone you can, and use all the items you can on everything else. There’s no way to lose or die in this game! If you do get stuck, though – consult this guide, where we’ve laid down the steps for how to proceed with the story.

Garden (Fixing the Captain)

There’s a lot to see in the Garden, but for your objective, head left from the elevator area to the Ponds area. Here, you’ll see a damaged Growbot. Interact with them.

You can’t seem to get through to them. Use your Brainapilla on the Captain to learn that you need to get inside their mind. Interact with the Captain again, and you’ll learn that one of his bolts is too tight.

Return to the Elevator area. Here, you need to go up – use the arrow to the right of the elevator to go up, where you’ll find a meditating Gardener and a green panel below them.

Interact with the green panel and then, with the spanner inside it. You’ll be stopped by a shield! It seems that this shield requires two kinds of sounds, and you only have one, so we’ll need to find the right sound for this shield.

Interestingly, you’ll notice that the vines just above the Gardener are ready to bloom.

To get the vines to bloom, go back to the Lower Elevator Area.

Pick up the pink spray pump lying on the floor next to the elevator. Then, interact with the blue bottle on the middle shelf to the left of the elevator. Then, get the light pollen on the top shelf, just above the water.

Combine the light pollen with the bottle of water, and then combine that with with the spray pump.

Go back up to where the Gardener is and use your spray pump on the vines hanging above the Gardener.

The flowers will now bloom. Interact with the flowers to gain a new sound!

Now interact with the shield blocking the panel below the Gardener again. The sequence you need to create the Shield Key is: Bio-Lumi, Daisy, Bio-Lumi, Bio-Lumi, Daisy, Bio-Lumi.

Use the Shield Key on the shield and pick up the spanner.

Return to the Captain in the Ponds area and use your spanner on the Captain.

Once he’s opened up, interact with him. You must now fix the Captain’s insides by placing the parts in the right places. If you place a part correctly, it will no longer be black and will no longer be removable.

Once fixed, the Captain will wake up. Interact with him (to no avail), and then use your Brainapilla on him. Interact with the Captain again to plug in.
