Chapter 3 (Contd.)

How do I get past the Eastern Ramparts into the Eastern Guard Tower?

If you run all the way to the left as Henrik, you’ll find a locked door that lets you enter the guard tower. You’ll need to find a key for it, but you can only find it as Tove. Tove, meanwhile, is blocked by the Raven Beasts.

To start, have Henrik run all the way left, and near the locked door you’ll find a set of machinery that controls three gibbets.

We’re going to use the gibbets one-by-one to trap the beasts.

First, pull the lever once as Henrik and raise the left gibbet. Open the door of the left gibbet.

Now as Tove, run towards where Henrik is, but take the stairs down the ramparts. Pick up the purple fruit growing on the landing, and run up to Henrik and the gibbet. Place the fruit in the gibbet and watch the scene.

Now that the first beast is captured, run up the guard tower door as Tove and you’ll find a gear lying in the corner. Pick up this gear.

Go further left and climb up the bricks to reach next purple fruit.

Now it’s time to trap the next Beast.

To do this, we’ll have to place the gear into the first slot to the right of the lever. However, as the gibbets can only be raised and lowered in unison, you must first lower the first gibbet, so that you can raise both the left and middle gibbet together.

So switch to Henrik and lower the gibbet by using the lever again.

Once the gibbet is lowered, place the gear in the first slot to the right of the lever. You can do this as either Henrik or Tove, it doesn’t matter. Once the gear is in place, pull the lever again as Henrik.

Now both the gibbets are up, but if you try the fruit-trap, the beast in the first gibbet will warn the approaching beast. So you need to lower the first gibbet again and keep the second gibbet raised.

To do this, remove the gear as either Henrik or Tove (while both gibbets are raised), and then use the lever to lower the first gibbet back down. This way, there will only be the middle gibbet raised up.

Now open the door of the middle gibbet and then switch to Tove. Have Tove place the purple fruit in the gibbet.

With the second beast captured, Tove can now access another fruit, which is located near where this beast was located.

As Tove, run through the doorway this beast was guarding, and you’ll find both a new purple fruit and a gear for the machine. Pick both of these up.

Now begins another round of raising and lowering. First, we need all three gibbets to be lowered so that you can raise the third gibbet.

Without using any of the gears, pull the lever as Henrik to raise the first gibbet. Put one of the gears in the first slot of the machinery. Use the lever to lower both the gibbets down.

Now place the second gear in the second slot and raise the gibbets using the lever. With this, all three gibbets are raised, so now we need to lower the first two gibbets.

To do this, remove the second gear and use the lever to lower the first two gibbets. With just the third gibbet raised, open it up as Henrik, and have Tove place the third fruit into the gibbet.

After the third beast is captured, run over to the key that the third beast was guarding, and grab it as Tove. Switch to Henrik and use the key on the guard tower door (it is too frozen up for Tove).
